Child Care Worker's Permit Instructions

The Child Care Worker's Permit is required for all persons who own a child care center, or whose work involves caring for children. Permits are obtained by attending a 2-hour training class on child care safety and sanitation, food safety, and communicable disease prevention. The Child Care Worker's Permit is valid for three years.

Once you complete your training and have received your certification, you must register your certification with the City of Arlington. The Registration Fee is $20.00, which you will pay directly to the City of Arlington during the registration process.  The price listed below is the workbook price only. 

This user-friendly Self-Instructional PDF Workbook includes a post-test that must be submitted by mail or email for review unless you select the "Online Option."  After it is processed and approved, you will receive your Certificate of Completion.  You must contact the City of Arlington Health Services in order to register your certification, in accordance with the City Health Code.  You may email Bill.OToole@ArlingtonTx.gov to submit your certificate.
